Spatiotemporal Large-Scale Networks Shaped by Air Mass Movements

چکیده
The movement of atmospheric air masses can be seen as a continuous flow gases and particles hovering over our planet, it locally simplified by means three-dimensional trajectories. These trajectories hence way connecting distant areas the globe during given period time. In this paper we present mathematical formalism to construct spatial spatiotemporal networks where nodes represent subsets partition geographical area links between them are inferred from sampled passing across them. We propose different estimators intensity links, relying on bio-physical hypotheses covering adjustable time periods. This construction leads new definition characterized adjacency matrices giving, e.g., probability connection chosen applied methodology characterize tropospheric connectivity in two real contexts: watersheds French region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur coastline Mediterranean Sea. analysis constructed allowed identifying marked seasonal pattern mass movements study areas. If is samples air-mass trajectories, with potential implications aerobiology plant epidemiology, could other types such animal components landscape hosting animals.

Spatiotemporal Anomaly Visualization for Large-scale Dynamic Networks
As we move into big data era, many data grows not just in size but complexity with a rich set of attributes that contain location and time information, such as data from mobile devices (e.g., smart phones), natural disasters (e.g., earthquake and hurricane), epidemic spread, etc. We are motivated to build a visualization tool for exploring generic spatiotemporal data, i.e., records containing t...
متن کاملUsing computational intelligence for large scale air route networks design
Due to the rapid development of air transportation, Air Route Networks (ARNs) need to be carefully designed to improve both efficiency and safety of air traffic service. The Crossing Waypoints Location Problem (CWLP) plays a crucial role in the design of an ARN. This paper investigates this problem in the context of designing the national ARN of China. Instead of adopting the single-objective f...
متن کاملScale invariant characteristics of the Storegga Slide and implications for large-scale submarine mass movements
This study documents the fractal characteristics of submarine mass movement statistics and morphology within the Storegga Slide. Geomorphometric mapping is used to identify one hundred and fifteen mass movements from within the Storegga Slide scar and to extract morphological information about their headwalls. Analyses of this morphological information reveal the occurrence of spatial scale inv...
متن کاملOn the Relation Between the Large-Scale Tropospheric Circulation and Air Quality in Tehran
The large-scale tropospheric circulation can play a controlling role in the accumulation and ventilation of air pollutants. It thus impacts air quality in large urban areas. This paper investigates the statistical relations between the dynamical indices related to circulation in the troposphere and visibility as a surrogate for air pollution in the urban area of Tehran for the climatological pe...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal reconfiguration of large-scale brain functional networks during propofol-induced loss of consciousness.
Applying graph theoretical analysis of spontaneous BOLD fluctuations in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), we investigated whole-brain functional connectivity of 11 healthy volunteers during wakefulness and propofol-induced loss of consciousness (PI-LOC). After extraction of regional fMRI time series from 110 cortical and subcortical regions, we applied a maximum overlap discrete wav...
